Layout

As this blog grows in popularity (I'm positive it's on the cusp of an amazing explosion), I will be trying to keep posts and comments as organized as possible and in as logical a layout as possible to make browsing as easy as possible.

Listed below are each of the categories and a brief explanation of the intent for the category, hopefully helping information seekers more readily navigate to the right place. As categories get updated/modified I will be sure to update this page as well.

Families: For now this is a general category for members of families to post messages regarding events or just simply staying in touch. The service I use for this Blog does not currently offer "sub-categories" so for now postings will just be lumped together in one category. If people begin to utilize this category and it gets burdensome in one general category, I will reevaluate the layout to keep things organized.

Feedback:  This category is intended to be a general feedback area for folks to share their thoughts on the shireancestry website including the blog pages.

Genealogy:  This category is intended for general genealogy interest posts. Great contacts, websites, sources, etc. Perhaps people will want to share general research frustrations or success stories. If so, those posts will be found in this category.

Individuals Being Researched: This category is intended to act as a message board queries type category. Here people can post their surnames they are searching for or mysteries they have stumbled into that they would like some assistance with.

Videos:  This is the newest category. I created it because I wanted to share a funny video I found on the internet that I thought was appropriate to genealogy. I made a special category because I thought perhaps there would be some interest by people to submit their family videos to share with others.
